Need to change your dependent care fsa elections?

In most cases, you may only make changes to your benefits during Open Enrollment. However, dependent care FSA changes based on a significant change in dependent care expenses allow you to make changes to your election.

Process a Life Event in UKG

To process a Life Event, you will need to visit the Benefits area in UKG. In this instance, you'll want to choose "FSA Dependent Care Change". Once you've uploaded the required documentation, you will be prompted to complete your election change. As a reminder, this must be completed within 31 days of the significant change to your expenses.

If gaining expenses, documentation must include your name and the effective date of the new expenses. Documents that may suffice include:

  • a letter from provider indicating an increase in cost
  • a letter from provider verifying enrollment in a new program

If losing expenses, documentation must include your name and the loss of expenses effective date. Documents that may suffice include:

  • a letter from provider indicating a decrease in cost
  • a letter from provider indicating closure, reduction, or discontinued participation in a program

Update your benefits

Manage your profile to make your election changes. Any enrollments or changes you make will take effect on the first day of the month following the date the gain or loss of expenses, once the required documentation is received.
