Care Overview
Regardless of your choice, both plans cover the same types of procedures and services via the same Aetna Choice POS II Network. This means you’ll have access to the same large network of doctors and facilities throughout the country, without the need for a referral. However, the plans differ in the way the cost of care is structured and in the strategies you can use to control your expenses.
By enrolling in one of McClatchy's health plans you have access to all of the plans and programs mentioned below. You may never need every feature. But if you do, they’re there for you.
Aetna's health plan covers certain preventive services — like shots and screening tests — at no cost to you.

Savings Advantage with HSA Plan
This is a traditional PPO plan with a high deductible and a Health Savings Account (HSA) that you can use to save and pay for qualified health care expenses now or in the future. With the Savings Advantage plan, you’ll pay a lower monthly premium contribution and McClatchy contributes to your HSA to jumpstart your savings. You pay the full cost of care until you reach your deductible, then the plan will pay coinsurance until you reach your out-of-pocket maximum. In-network preventive care is covered 100%.

Classic Care Plan
Similar to the Savings Advantage plan, you may choose any physician or hospital for care with this coverage, and you pay less when you receive care from an in-network provider. With the Classic Care PPO, you pay more in monthly premium (payroll deductions) than the Savings Advantage plan, but have a lower deductible a more traditional copay/coinsurance cost share arrangement. In-network preventive care is covered 100%.

Member Tools
Use's Aetna's directory to find in-network doctors and hospitals. You can also locate other types of health care providers including urgent care centers, specialists, physical therapists and more. To find a doctor in our network, either login to your already existing Aetna account, register as a new user if coverage is live, or search as a guest using the Aetna Choice POS II network.
All telemedicine service offerings, regardless of which program is accessed, provide flexibility and convenience in accessing providers. Remove access barriers to care and get help when and where you need it.

Well-being is more than just a part of you, it's the whole you. This is why McClatchy has partnered with several excellent benefit providers to offer services and programs that help you thrive, not just get by. Below is a summary of the mental health resources we currently offer:
- Employee Assistance Program (all employees) - Receive unlimited access to online resources, 24/7 telephone access to licensed behavioral health professionals and up to ten visits with a counselor per person and per-incident each year.
- Talkspace (all employees) - An extension of the above EAP, the Talkspace platform (desktop or app) is a new, easy way to utilize your EAP benefits. This program gives you access to 2,000+ additional providers with whom you can connect via text, phone, or video. You can utilize our EAP benefit for 10 video or phone sessions, or 10 weeks of Talkspace text/chat. We believe these program additions will help you better access the care when and where you need it.
- RethinkCare (all employees) - This benefit brings a wide library of personal well-being and parenting courses to support stress resilience, emotional well-being, and tools to support the challenges of modern-day parenting. With ReThinkCare you also have access up to 12 hours with a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA), providing clinical expertise with 1:1 tailored parental coaching. The BCBA sessions are free, immediate, and designed to support you, the parent. Take 5 minutes to explore the app as a new tool for your journey to a healthier, happier you. Here’s how to register your profile, and how your dependents can register as well.
Gender Affirmation Coverage
This expanded coverage includes behavioral health services, hormone therapy and gender-affirmation surgery. We are excited for the opportunity to expand our healthcare services to reflect our value of inclusivity. As a reminder, McClatchy is covering the full cost of the premium increase for this added benefit. The only cost associated to participants is your cost share for covered services.

- Physician Nomination
Use this form to nominate a physician for recruitment into Aetna's network. - Medical Benefit Claims
Use this form to submit non-network provider claims. You only need to complete the employee section through box 25 if you have a Superbill, and have paid the provider for services rendered. This claim form can be mailed, faxed, or uploaded via your Aetna Message center in your online account. - Transition of Coverage Request
Use this form to make a formal request of Aetna to cover continuing care from an out-of-network doctor or other health care professionals.
