Recently divorce or legally separate?

When your relationship reaches a point where it seems necessary to part ways, you might find that separation or divorce is the only viable option. This section will guide you through important steps to take to minimize the stress on everybody involved.

Process a Live Event in UKG

Within 31 days of the marriage, you will need to process a Life Event via our UKG portal and provide documentation supporting the marriage.
To process a Life Event, you'll need to visit the Benefits area in UKG.  In this instance, you'll want to choose Divorce/Annulment/Legal Separation as the type of event. Additional resources for navigating the new Benefits platform can be found here. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact our LiveWell team at livewell@mcclatchy.com.

Update your benefits

Manage your profile to remove your dependent and then update your benefit elections. Any enrollments or changes you make will take effect on the first day of the month following the date the divorce or legal separation, once the required documentation is received.

Note for the Dependent Eligibility Verification Process: McClatchy reserves the right to periodically audit enrolled dependents to ensure they meet our eligibility requirements.
